On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Mr. Prayoon Insakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the opening ceremony of the seminar on "Monitoring and Evaluation of Key Projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives for Fiscal Year 2025." Mr. Chantanon Wannakhet, Secretary-General of the Office of Agricultural Economics, delivered a report. The seminar took place at Vayuphak Room 6, 5th Floor, Centara Life Hotel, Government Complex and Convention Center, Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok.
The objective of this seminar was to present the results of the monitoring and evaluation of key projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and to solicit comments and suggestions from relevant agencies and project stakeholders. This seminar also facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the OAE and other agencies within and outside the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives involved in project implementation.
The seminar activities included
1) a keynote address on "Policy Implementation Guidelines for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in 2026" by Mr. Prayoon Insakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives;
2) a lecture on "Monitoring and Evaluating the Ministry's Key Projects" by Ms. Thanathita Boonyamaneekul, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of Agricultural Economics;
3) a panel discussion on "Agri Strong: Strengthening the Thai Agricultural Sector for Sustainability." Participants included Mr. Suphat Onkong, Ratchaburi Provincial Agricultural Officer; Mr. Narongsak Chuensuchon, President of the Ratchaburi Provincial Industrial Council; and Mr. Charoen Charoenthap, a large-scale coconut farmer. The session was moderated by Dr. Chattaphon Sayaphan, Director of the Evaluation Center;
and 4) a brainstorming session on "The Direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' Project Plans for the Future" moderated by Dr. Anuwat Pue-on, Expert on policy and special project evaluation, and Mr. Methee Chanta, Director of the Agricultural Programme Evaluation.
Following the seminar, The OAE Evaluation Center will use the information received from the seminar to improve the monitoring and evaluation report to be more complete. This information will be forwarded to the responsible agencies for consideration in driving policies, plans, and projects in the next phase.
